You’ve Got An Awesome Daddy! – sermon outline

1. You've Got A Daddy Who Can Do Anything!

Mark 14:36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

In His hour of greatest stress, and knowing what He needed to do for all of us, Jesus under the weight of what was coming cried out to His God and called Him Daddy. He said, I know that is nothing that you can't do! All things are possible with you Daddy. Jesus said it because it was true. Jesus went through what was before Him and then was welcomed home into the loving arms of His Daddy.

As little kids, we talk about how my Daddy is bigger than your Daddy. My Daddy is smarter than your Daddy. My Daddy can outdo your Daddy. Well as God's Kids, we can look into the face of any circumstance and know that My Daddy is bigger, better, smarter and stronger than You!

2. You've Got A Daddy to Help When You're Scared and Lonely

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

-Paul wrote that before we were adopted our lives were in bondage to fear but now we know we belong to God who is our Daddy. We can cry out to Him and He's always there. We can call Him 24/7. He is not a fickle father, an absentee father, or a mean spirited abusive father. He is the loving Daddy that came and got you and broke the chains of fear off you and made you His own. You are valuable to Him. So remember that when you are dealing with any kind of fear. Remember that when you are feeling alone. He is there and He cares.

3. You've Got A Daddy Who Wants You to Know He's Your Daddy
Galatians 4:6  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

-Notice… He sent forth His Spirit into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" He wants you to call Him Daddy! He wants you to know it. You were made to relate to God as a child to a Father. You can call Him papa and that's more than just fine with Him. Because that is who He wants to be AND that is who He is!
