by Eddie Lawrence

1. NEHEMIAH'S COMPASSION MOTIVATED HIM TO CHANGE HIS WORLD
(v1-3)

~Notice he had never been sad, but now he is gripped by a burden rooted in his love for his people and his homeland.

~He chose to believe that what he saw would not be permanent, it could be changed.

2. NEHEMIAH COUNTED THE COST AND MADE HIS REQUEST (v2-8)

~He became dreadfully afraid, v2

~Nehemiah made a bold request to a foreign King. This could have cost him his life.

-After he took the step to ask, He was able to see God's favor begin to work powerfully.

~We often have not because we ask not.

-He allow his faith to rise up and conquer his fear.

3. NEHEMIAH CHALLENGED HIS CHALLENGES (v10-20)

-A city whose walls were in shambles

~Enemies who would fight him every step he took to rebuild.

-A people who were utterly discouraged and in despair.

~Yet, he looked at each of these with a determined faith and confronted them.

~He rallied his friends and prepared to defeat his enemies.

~He brought resources together with need and saw things change.

4. NEHEMIAH'S BOLDNESS SPRANG FORTH OUT OF BROKENNESS (v17-18)

~Be encouraged to know you can see ruins become the place of revival.

~Be encouraged that you can see discouraged people on fire for God.

~Be encouraged that if you dare to change things God wants changed, you can be a reformer, a revolutionary.

~Remember, the Gospel is about death being defeated and life being released. We are overcomers through Him.
