FOUR TRUTHS ABOUT GOD’S LOVE
By Eddie Lawrence

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1. GOD’S LOVE IS ACTIVE

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

-So many times our culture reduces love to a fleeting feeling. God’s love is tenacious and active. It is filled with commitment from the core. It flows outwardly to others. It affects our thinking but it is more than a thought. It affects our emotions but it is more than a feeling. It affects our talk but it is more than just words.

- Love demonstrates itself. It is active. It has a fruit that can be seen. It can result in a powerful influence on those who receive it.

2. GOD’S LOVE IS PERSONAL

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

-It is His own love , it’s personal to Him.

-It is directed toward us, it’s personally for us. Have you ever thought of the thoughts of God toward you as He planned your redemption? They were thoughts of love. Do you live with awareness of this kind of love from God toward you? Think of what we miss, when we fail to believe that He really does love us this passionately.

3. GOD’S LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

- God’s love sacrifices, gives, and is not based upon conditions.

-It is not given because of who we are or what we do. It is given based on Who He is and What He does. God is Love. All that God does is from the place of love because He is love. Even is judgment ultimately rooted in love.

-The good news is that you are not called to merit or earn God’s love but to receive it through Christ. Have you?

4. GOD’S LOVE IS WAITING

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

-You see, God acted in love for you long before you were ever born. There is a world of love into which you can enter. It is found through Christ’s redemptive death that reconciles you to God. God has already acted toward you and now He waits for you to respond.

-If you have not responded to God’s loving offer of salvation, will you respond today?
